The Town of Huntington, NY..........PartIX

OUR TOWN……………                               Part IX
Such a nice place to live and raise a family.
I’m going to apologize right up front for the length of this one. I wanted to have folks get some idea of what the agenda for Town Board Meetings looks like. If you haven’t been to one of these, it’s worth going at least once to see what happens. Pay close attention to just who on the Board is permitted to speak for about 20% of the time allocated to the “terrible three”. For those of us who have attended these meetings, I don’t have to elaborate on the “terrible three”. It’s part of the show, and I don’t want to ruin it for any newcomers.
I find it very interesting that we have a number of local media outlets, and the only one the Town of Huntington uses is the “Huntingtonian”. This is regularly the only place to find out when Town meetings, community discussions, and special Town business are being held. If I remember correctly, November 7th was a Thursday, and the meeting is held in the middle of the day. I wonder just how many residents of the Town of Huntington are able to attend such a meeting.
